I can't believe we're just one week away from this years wrestlemania. what's everyone's final thoughts about the card and this years event? what match are you looking forward to the most? what are your predictions? ----- i'll be working on my predictions for thewrestlingclassic.com tonight.

The one thing i disliked about going to wrestlemania last year was that two of my current favourite wrestlers in seth rollins and randy orton both weren't on the card. it's one of the reasons i wish i was going this year but unfortunately it didn't work out this year. i'll definitely be there next year though in new orleans. hopefully they're both there. πŸ’― @wwerollins @randyorton

At last night's wwe live event in montreal, sami zayn defeated kevin owens in the main event. it was a montreal street fight. at one point, owens had this exchange with the crowd: crowd: "we want tables!" ko: "if you asked in french, i would've done it!" crowd: "on veut des tables!" ko: "sorry, i don't speak french." after the match, zayn cut a promo and talked about his history with owens. zayn said he had respect for owens and the crowd gave owens a standing ovation. zayn said he didn't know what he was doing for #wrestlemania33 but this match was his wrestlemania. according to several reports, owens appeared to start crying at the end of zayn's promo.

Wwe hall of famer shawn michaels appeared on the latest episode of the sam roberts wrestling podcast, and during the appearance hbk revealed wwe offered him a wrestlemania 33 match against aj styles. michaels said: "i guess i’m breaking something with you and i don’t even know if i should, but i could have had a match at this years wrestlemania. they didn’t have an opponent for aj. i said that i wasn't asked earlier this year, because i hadn’t, but then i was. i respectively declined the offer. i just wish that young man was here 10 years ago. i honestly do. i think he’s incredibly talented." ----- i won't be posting a lot today but wanted to hear from all of you. what's your opinion on shawn michaels comments?!

When people ask me who i think i am and what the wrestling classic is, the answer is very simple. i'm a devoted passionate fan of what is in my mind, the single greatest form of art and athleticism, professional wrestling. i'm a student of the game who one day wishes to be involved in the game, playing a role to make it better than it is yesterday and today. to help evolve it to its greatest heights. i want to be apart of the magic. i'm always educating myself to know and have been since i was a kid. i do my part with this whole brand bringing back nostalgia, starting conversations about the current product and bringing wrestling fans of all ages and backgrounds globally together. i like to spread and share my passion for this business with other people who love it and have a soft spot for it too. a single place to reminisce about the classics, debate current stuff and invoke people to get creative using their imagination with ideas for the future. sports entertainment or professional wrestling is my sanctuary, my peace of mind and it's the only thing i've loved unconditionally that isn't my family or friends since as long as i can remember. that will never change. i am today and i'll always be a student of the game. it's as simple as that. dig it?! 🀘🏻

20 years ago today at wrestlemania 13, dwayne "the rock" johnson made his wrestlemania debut and shared a wrestlemania moment with his father the "soulman" rocky johnson. πŸ’―πŸ‘ŒπŸ» i would love to hear @therock share what this moment meant to him. i'm sure it had to mean a lot for his father and himself to have this moment. i bet he'd have a great story to tell.🀘🏻 @sevenbucksprod

20 years ago today. πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’― ----- wrestlemania 13 on march 23, 1997 "stone cold" steve austin faced bret "the hitman" hart in a submission match and ken shamrock was the special guest referee. this match is the highlight of that wrestlemania and famous for the double turn that took place organically following the match. in my mind this match was what put austin on the map in the wwe and made him a top guy. austin became one of the most popular fan favourite baby faces and would remain in that spot for the next 5 years. bret hart went from a mega babyface hero for the last 6-7 years to become one of the most despised heels, primarily in america. personally one of my favourite matches of all time. definitely in my personal top 5. i can watch this match a ton of times and never get bored of it. it's a go to match when i feel like i need a solid wrestling fix. it had the perfect blend of technical, brawling and hardcore styles of wrestling with perfect storytelling filled with drama. it ended with austin in a pool of his own blood locked in the sharpshooter. it's one of the most iconic images of an era. austin never surrendered or quit but the match ended because he passed out. this earned him the fans respect. bret hart even though victorious wanted to continue to injure an unconscious austin but was stopped by shamrock thus losing respect from the fans. the chicago crowd loved it all. the match is a classic. it featured two of my favourite wrestlers of all-time. if you've never watched bret hart vs. steve austin from wrestlemania 13, i recommend you go on the wwe network and watch it. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ @brethitmanhart @steveaustinbsr
