my dad woke me up to go out for breakfast, then i hit the gym hard to work off that crazy waffle! i hit core and glutes pretty rough and it made all the difference! i’ve been seeing body progress and it’s been really nice to see. then i went straight to work for the rest of the night. talk about go go go πŸ’ͺ🏼

my workout for the day:
- core
• crunches 50
• alternate leg raise 3x20
• legs extensions 3x20
• russian twists 20 lbs 50 reps
• kettlebell side crunch 3x20 20 lbs
- glutes
• hip thrusts 3x20 rr
• glute abduction 3x20 rr
• squats 3x20 rr
• jump squats 3x15 rr
• back extensions 3x15 rr
- thighs
• leg extensions outer side 2x10 70 lbs slow
• leg extensions inner side 2x10 70 lbs slow

Should you be tracking macros?

i talk a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, so why should that include macros? tracking your macros is a tool, and not something that will be done forever. well, at least in my opinion.
.
macros can be flexible (hence the term flexible dieting). it’s not a restrictive meal plan. so as you embark on your fitness journey, you may need some structure/accountability. if you are sick of meal plans, macros are something you should consider. it gives you the structure you need to stay on track, as well as the flexibility of still eating the stuff you enjoy & love!
.
by tracking macros, you are going to learn about portion sizes and the nutrients in your food..and this knowledge is something that you will now have for life!
remember, it’s just a tool.. but it can help you to finally see those results, with the structure you need & the flexibility you want!

My upper body workout from this morning. .
i will do a lot of full body workouts to save time and to get the most out of my workout but i do sometimes incorporate split training, mainly upper body, especially when i know i’m going for a hike, spin or run later πŸ˜‰

had a crazy good pump in my shoulders after this set. the last one... 10 pound plate circles... looks innocent enough, it’s not, especially as a finisher πŸ˜‰πŸ’ͺ🏻
.
not recommended for anyone with shoulder injuries or shoulder pain/issues of any kind.

#bbgday1 completed! the bbg workouts are attributed to kayla itsines. i'm following her original guide. today was 28 minutes with a legs and cardio focus 😍 incredible workout combining strength and cardio. worked up a beautiful sheen. workout included jump squats, normal squats, walking lunges, knee ups, weighted ball squat and presses, weighted step ups, burpees and x-jumps. this really challenged my cardio. i'm really glad to have started this programme because i really want to get my fitness level up in terms of cardio and strength. i want to be strong, + have a healthy heart πŸ’– bbg workouts, runs, walks and a few concentrated muscle group sessions sprinkled in. what could go wrong?πŸ˜‚looking forward to the next session on wednesday = arms and abs!

Cheezin because @fuelmapleridge is always there for me when i’m ready to dial in my nutrition and diet. with provincials coming up in february i want to give myself more then enough time to cut down to the 55kg class. i’ve decide to incorporate casein protein into my bedtime snack. casein is a slow-digesting dairy protein which releases amino acids more slowly than your regular protein. taking it before bed will help with recovery and reduces muscle breakdown while i sleep which will be super important as i cut down to the 55kg weight-class. @teamallmax is almost always one of my go-tos when it comes to protein.
i also have decided to incorporate creatine monohydrate back into my supplement line up which of course always helps with the gainzzz. again allmax is one of my top choices to go with as i have never really noticed any bloat or water retention while taking it, which of course will be important while cutting weight.
