Você já teve bode de correr na rua? já parou para pensar 💭 nisso? não é bode da corrida, mas de treinar na rua e passar uma fase na esteira somente.

a grande maioria das pessoas não curtem esteira, e aqueles que não curtem a rua por um tempo é meio raridade aparecer. mas o que te faz ter um “bodezinho” de treinar na rua:

🌵trânsito - sabe correr na rua cheia de carros, muitas paradas, não dá fluidez, muito barulho e sustos ao longo do percurso (já tive uma amiga atropelada na rua enquanto treinávamos em grupo).
🌵calçadas desniveladas e esburacados - isso enche, não? tive uma amiga que caiu e rasgou (literalmente) a canela, pois caiu em cima de uma coluna quebrada. desníveis das calçadas, buracos 🕳 são pratos cheios para cairmos, torcer o tornozelo, se machucar.
🌵parques cheios - quem nunca cruzou aquele paredão de atletas e não atletas no ibira? uma assessoria famosa é conhecida por ter seus atletas folgados no ibira e, acreditem, te xingam quando você pede licença.
🌵risco de assalto - é sério isso? sim! 😩. muito triste, né? mas acreditem, sair com celular, tênis caro, gps, óculos, tem chamado atenção dos trombadinhas e sem vergonhas mesmo.

há varias coisas que ainda te fazem pegar um “bode” da rua! você já passou por esta experiência? conta aqui para mim 👇🏻...

@amysbalancingact - today i went for a run in these @lululemon shorts that i haven’t worn in years. seriously years y’all. i’ve thought about getting rid of them many times, but i’m glad i didn’t. i last wore them before i got pregnant with chloe when i was marathon training and didn’t have the amazing, crazy chaos that children bring. when i got back to my pre-baby weight after chloe i still didn’t feel comfortable in these shorts. i thought they were too short and too tight for a mother. i didn’t feel as comfortable in them as i once had. i felt insecure and like my body wasn’t quite good enough. (news flash: it totally was.)

well i found them in the back of my drawer earlier this year and set a goal to wear them and feel good in them again! today was the day. 💪🏼 looking back, the shorts fit me fine after i had chloe but i wasn’t as confident in my own skin as i am today. it’s crazy to think that after two babies, i’m feeling my best. i feel strong, sexy, fit, happy and excited for each new challenge.

i guess the moral of this story is make it your goal to feel confident and happy. whatever it takes to get you there. don’t let comparison get you down. (i know for a fact that i did.) everyone has a different journey, so rejoice in your own. life is too short to not love what you see in the mirror! so get out there and find a way to make it happen!

It was a slippery finish: eyes down! even though it was a tough day, i’m very pleased with my execution and mental game. my coach summed it up well: “it seems like you can bq on any day of the week now! i'm so proud of you for getting yourself to a position where this kind of effort is something you just do and have no doubts about.”

five years ago, my pr was 3:43 and i had made over 10 bq attempts! but now, without a proper training cycle (just a few long runs in the 4 weeks leading up to the race) i can bq with 11+ minutes cushion! —
what i’m most proud of is that my mental game was strong throughout the race. i ran a lackluster 10k last month and it made me realize that i needed to focus more on execution and pushing hard when things hurt. here were some of things i told myself during the last few miles on sunday when the race got rough:

▪️just get to that next mile marker and maintain the effort
▪️keep an eye on the pace; try to rally if it starts to slip.
▪️your body can do this!
▪️only 20 more minutes!
▪️if you stay under a 9:00 pace you will bq!
▪️you are still in the game!
▪️you’ve done this many times before
▪️the fastest way for this to end is to keep running your best.

my math was off by 10 minutes during the last 5 miles. i told myself often that i had “x” minutes left to finish and bq (3:40). but in reality, i had 10 minutes more than i realized so i was pushing myself to sub 3:30 when i thought i was pushing myself to sub 3:40. i didn’t realize this until i had about a mile left! 😂 i guess that worked, although it was just a simple math error.

my legs are still hurting really badly and i’m much worse off now than when i ran my 3:15. i think it’s because of all the hills and the fact that i wasn’t trained as well. i’ll be taking some time off to rest and recover.
