Following the subject of strength / resistance training in my email this morning here’s a quick tip
add variety to your weight training regime by using different pieces of equipment in your workout.
dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, cables, resistance machines & bodyweight exercises all have different benefits of using them! .
don’t get bored & plateau with your training by sticking to the same workout weeks / months! 💪🏻🏋🏽♀️😃
if you find resistance training intimidating or not sure where to start drop me a message now & let’s get you started 💪🏻🏋🏻♀️😁

I was inspired by the discussion @teawithmd and @yangswearabouts had about partners in medicine
it made me do a lot of self reflecting on my relationship. we started dating when were 16, and we’ve grown together through the major milestones -
support. medical school was stressful and i threw myself at with an all or nothing mentality. i was willing to sacrifice almost anything in the beginning. i would wall myself up in a cubicle studying all day. almost everyday. my friends from med school know i’m an excessive studier. during this time erik gave me the space i needed. he knew how much i wanted this. how much this meant to me, and he gave me the unconditional support to follow through. after the first year i got my feet under me and i got better at balance. but it wasn’t without his grace and understanding that i got there.
understanding. we talk on the phone almost everyday and when i’m decompressing i love that i don’t have to stop talking medicine. or stop to explain things. he just gets it. it’s a two way street. (he’s an er nurse). when he tells me they had to code an infant or they had to tell a patient they had cancer- i get it. there’s heartache in medicine and it’s important to process those emotions.
residency. he told me he would move anywhere i wanted to go. it was the most selfless and gracious thing he could’ve said. he went on interviews with me to see where would be a good fit for us. he never tried to influence my decision, and it was the most meaningful thing he could’ve done for us
relationships in medicine are hard. we’ve been long distance for over 4yrs. it takes sacrifice. it takes communication. it takes patience. but it’s worth it. don’t let anyone ever tell you you don’t have time for it. life’s about priorities 💕
“why you need shoulder prehab“
[shoulder health advice]
here is a sample exercise from our shoulder [p]rehab program ➡️ phase 4️⃣ ➡️ focused on [p]rehab & performance.
through conversations in the clinic and with people online all over the world, we realized there was a void to fill to help guide people to avoid shoulder issues. people wanted shoulder prehab, people wanted a program to follow to avoid injuries and surgery if possible. our goal from day one has been to change how healthcare works and encourage people to invest in their health now, taking a proactive approach with their shoulders before its too late. we needed to educate the masses about why you need shoulder prehab!
our patients would repeatedly tell us they wish they had access to this information sooner. they realized there wasn’t necessarily a magic formula or special equipment or extensive hands-on treatment that provided results. it just came down to being consistent with the right exercises and being armed with the right knowledge.
you only get 1 set of shoulders for life, it sickens us to hear people think of their body like it’s a car. you can’t just go to the surgeon, get shoulder surgery, and expect your shoulders to be 100%. ask anyone that has had shoulder surgery, it is very unlikely they will tell you their shoulder is perfect. this can even be the case with a shoulder injury or chronic shoulder pain managed without surgery. save yourself thousands of $ in surgery, rehab, and time away from work and things you love to do. now is the time to invest in your shoulder health, trust us! we even created a free sample of the program for those that want to try it first. you will gain access to an exclusive discount on the program simply by signing up for the free sample program.
