🕐 did you know? 🕐
for many of our planet's species, time is running out. when they are extinct, what will we do?
.
💡 what animal is this?!? 💡 "if they do not exist, will we have to invent them?" is a personal and free commitment to create an imaginary animal every day for a month, mixing the photos of joel sartore's photo ark.
.
📷 why help photo ark? 📷
because it is a powerful project. the photo ark documents the biodiversity of the planet to help save endangered species and their habitats. there are beautiful and intimate portraits of more than 8,485 species.

venus is a nine-year-old oncilla who lives at @parquejaimeduque in colombia. she arrived at the facility after being saved by colombian environmental authorities from the illegal pet trade, one of the main threats this species faces, along with habitat loss. they can be found in the mountainous areas surrounding the colombian capital bogotá-- where they prey on birds, reptiles and small mammals. to protect this and other species that occupy the same ecosystem, parque jaime duque has declared part of their facilities a natural reserve. to see a close up of this adorable cat follow @joelsartore #photoark #oncilla #notapet
