It’s amazing to see what people can actual achieve, when they get past the games that go on in their heads every day.

i once read that the majority of business problems are actually personal development problems, and after many years supporting coaches i completely agree.

low self confidence, doubt, fear, procrastination, frustration, comparison etc, they’re all signs that there’s something that you need to work on.

you can study the science / theory of coaching and business strategies all you like, but if you’re the road block to your progression, then it’s you that you need to focus on.

i would suggest that at least 25% of your overall education each week should be self development.

if you’re completely new to it and you know that you need to work on it right now, i would place it as high as 100% until you’ve broken through your barriers.

a clear, focussed and happy you is key to the overall success of your business.

๐Ÿง  we’ve been brain washed. years of fad diets, quick fixes, special f*****g diets shoved in our faces. advertisements, celebrities, influencers pushing the latest trend or diet.
.
๐Ÿ˜Ÿ it’s confusing, i completely understand why people are so confused. like i said, we’ve been brainwashed over the years.
.
๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผbut let me tell you this. the basic principle of any successful f*t loss diet is a calorie deficit. that is always going to be the most important thing in the f*t loss equation. period.
.
๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍โ™‚๏ธ so if you choose to achieve that calorie deficit through a ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting or whatever then that’s up to you.
.
๐Ÿฆ„ but it’s not magical and it’s not superior to just achieving that calorie deficit without doing those things.
.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ get that into your head. it’s empowering and actually reassuring!
.
๐Ÿ“‰ regardless, if f*t loss is a goal then you are going to have to find a way that is sustainable for you. sustainable doesn’t mean easy. f*t loss isn’t easy for most people. it’s hard. i get it!
.
๐Ÿ˜… however it’s easier when it’s not restrictive and you can live your life with only some small sacrifices. you’ve got to be smart about it. need help with it? consider hiring a coach to walk you through the process! you can do this ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

let’s be honest.. one of the hardest things when you’re “dieting” is eating less food. eating less takes it’s toll psychologically and physically, making it hard to adhere long term.
โž–
so i’ve decided to show you how i’ve managed to reduce my calorie intake by almost 1000 calories per day over the last 9 weeks, without actually eating that much less.
โž–
this is a rough example (i’m actually eating a lot more veg than this to bulk out my meals but i didn’t want to overload the graphics with info), but at the same time very accurate in terms of the changes i’ve made.
โž–
looking to swap foods for low f*t versions, veggie alternatives to things like rice, pasta or noodles, and leaner protein/meat sources.. are all good ideas when going lower calorie.
โž–
doing this has taken me from my maintenance energy intake to an aggressive deficit without too much stress.
โž–
what are your favourite low calorie alternatives?

I received an email the other day asking for the best way to get back in shape after losing motivation, and i thought i’d address this publicly as it’s something we all deal with, myself included!

the best advice i can give is to not get caught up on f*t gain but to focus instead on productive steps forward.

i know it’s not as easy as it sounds, but accept that you’ve put on a few extra pounds and resolve within yourself to put systems in place to change that.

1. training - make progressive overload, which means consistently putting more demand onto your body and muscles to make adaptation. adaptation is where the magic happens. focus on your performance rather than your aesthetics - this will follow!

2. perspective - readjust your outlook. results don’t happen overnight. losing weight and losing body f*t are two different things. losing weight on the scales can happen quickly, but it can also come back in seconds. losing body f*t is a whole different story.

3. worth - this industry can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. do not think you are any less if you’re holding slightly more body f*t than usual. #sweatwithsana wearing @evveervital ๐Ÿ˜

complex, heavy machines and pulley system, grunts from scary-looking muscular men, and judgmental stares from everyone in the gym. within 3 seconds, they knew you’re a newbie. โ €โ €
โ €โ €
hey, who wouldn’t be scared in that kind of distorted view of “gym”? โ €โ €
โ €โ €
sad but true, this is how most newbies see gyms this way.โ €โ €
โ €โ €
it’s because they don’t know what to do, how to use the strange-looking machines, or where to start.โ €โ €
โ €โ €
can you relate? if you do,โ €โ €
โ €โ €
i’m here to assure you that you are not alone. you are not helpless.โ €โ €
โ €โ €
come on, every gym master was once a newbie. i was once in your shoes. i was scared, clueless, embarrassed and wanted to stop because it felt totally uncomfortable. โ €โ €
โ €โ €
but i know i needed to work out to build the body i want and achieve my fitness goals. โ €โ €
โ €โ €
thankfully, i was fortunate enough to have family and friends who pushed me to work out in the gym despite the early awkwardness. now, the local gym i frequent has become my second home. โ €โ €
โ €โ €
if you’re new to gyms, what do you need to get started?โ €โ €

Your time on the gym floor, is one of your most important marketing opportunities.

people are always watching you and observing how you interact with your clients.

your clients will choose you way before they consider your skills. to invest in you, the personal aspect of the personal training relationship is key.

one of the most important things you can do before you step on the gym floor, is to select your state. say this to yourself.

when i finish this session, i want my client to leave me a glowing review. i want them to tell their friends that they see high value in every coaching session that i deliver for them.

i want people who have been watching me coach, to say that it was professional, attentive, and client focussed. that i was engaged at all times, and delivered exactly what they’d expect if they were hiring me.

people with high standards for themselves and for their business, do this automatically. if this isn’t how you think, make an effort to rehearse this process before every session. focus on it for the next four weeks, every session, every day and every week.

do it until it becomes a part of you.

"most personal trainers overlook the most basic of tools, many of which add the most amount of value to your business and to your clients.โ €
-โ €
very few trainers still take photos of their clients. your results are the cornerstone of your business. ensure you always build a library of the clients that you work with.โ €
-โ €
a website might seem like a big task, but it’s where people will go to find out more about you. it’s also key if you want to dominate your google search in your local area (your customers search for “personal trainer”).โ €
-โ €
people communicate differently nowadays, so you need to keep up. send voice notes to add high value and support to your clients.โ €
-โ €
most clients struggle with accountability, and they often know little about food. my fitness pal, kills two birds with one stone.โ €
-โ €
many opportunities are missed simply because you don’t write them down. if something comes up write a short note and come back to it later. if it’s a topic you need to know more about or a business idea. don’t lose out because you let it go.โ €
