Caramelised cinnamon walnuts by @begoodorganics 💛 recipe: ingredients: 3 c walnuts (soaked 4 hours or overnight) 2 tbsp coconut sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla powder 1/4 tsp sea salt  how to 1. soak your walnuts for at least 4 hours, or overnight. 2. drain and rinse well, until all the colour has come out (this removes the bitterness and phytate nutrient inhibitors). shake and drain well - i normally leave them in the sink for 5-10 minutes to drain out while doing something else, otherwise you can dab them with a tea towel to dry (this will speed up your dehydrating/baking time). you still want a bit of moisture on them so the cinnamon mixture will stick. 3. add in a bowl with the cinnamon, vanilla powder, coconut sugar and sea salt, and stir for a good minute until all of the walnuts are well covered and there is no more cinnamon mix in the bottom of the bowl. 4. to dehydrate, place the walnut mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet (teflon/silicon or regular baking paper), and dry for 12-24 hours at 41°c (106°f) until they’re super crunchy to bite. to oven bake, place in a single layer on an oven tray and fan bake for 12-15 minutes at 150°c (302°f) until just crunchy and dry. 5. leave to cool completely until they're fully dry and crunchy, then place in a glass jar in the fridge in hot weather, or in your cupboard if it’s relatively cool. enjoy! #letscookvegan

I have abs?! say whaaat?👀 . to be honest, i don’t really think about them that often. which is crazy considering i used to do an “ab check” almost every time i went to the bathroom (yeah, i was that obsessed). . i wanted so badly to be the “fit girl” who had her 💩 together and had *abs*. which for whatever reason are the magical badge of being “fit”. . there was so much information out there. and since there was so much to learn, it felt impossible figuring out what i needed and when i needed it. straight up - surprised i didn’t get heart palpitations with just how much i was trying to micro-manage😰. . now - i eat 2-3 big meals per day (no measly tupperware bs up in here), i train 4 days a week (sometimes at home depending on my work schedule), and i focus on just the daily tasks needed to keep me moving towards my big picture goal. . you👏do👏not👏have👏to👏do👏this👏all👏at👏once. figure out your big picture goal, break it down into super small daily tasks, and just focus on achieving those every day. (plus if you need a lil extra support, i gotchu inside our transformnation community😉)

Bcaas . there seems to be a lot of confusion about bcaas - what they are, should you take them, when should you take them. in fact yesterday, i read on a girl's account that they it is necessary to supplement them. this is incorrect. they are not necessary, no supplements are, which is probably why they're called supplements. . if you are a student/don't have a lot of disposable income/don't know if you need them, dont worry. you probably don't. get your diet probably in order, work h*****n your training, get enough sleep and enough water and you're already giving your body exactly what it needs 🙌🏼 . but what exactly are bcaas?! bcaa stands for branched chain amino acids. amino acids are the little building blocks which make up proteins, and bcaas are three of them. bcaas have gotten a lot of attention because our body can't make them itself, and so we need to feed them to our body, either by protein rich food or bcaa supplements. . why is everyone getting so excited about them? bcaas go into our blood faster than other amino acids (as they bypass the liver). basically this means they get to our muscles faster to get working. they help to stimulate protein synthesis, which is how muscles grow. moreover they they help push glucose into our muscles (more energy for your muscles to work) and studies suggest they help reduce fatigue. but the evidence behind this is weak. and the evidence behind them even preventing muscle soreness isn't the strongest. . so what does all of this mean?! my personal take is simple; get your diet from food in order, find a training plan that suits you and works for you, get adequate sleep/rest/water. then if you want/have money/feel you need that extra 1% benefit but yourself of bcaas. there's 0 harm in taking them and i'm all for taking them if you feel they will help. but please don't fall into this trap of being made feel like you need to take them to get to where you want and always take caution when reading things on the internet 🤓 esp if people are being paid to promote certain products . happy to provide the relevant evidence if anyone want to read up more! . #bcaas#bcaa#protein#iifym#supplements#exercise#sports#nutrition
