these days, there are so many articles suggesting that we all eat brown rice, brown pasta, brown bread over the white varies. brown foods are 'good', whilst the white versions are 'totally bad'..
well..... there are many sides to this story!!🔍🕵🏻‍♀️

let's take a look at the benefits of each rice.

🍚brown rice:
✅slightly more protein
✅slightly more fibre
✅more calcium
✅lower gi

🍚white rice
✅less carbs
✅less fat
✅more thiamin
✅more iron
✅more niacin

..so both have benefits!

choosing white rice is definitely not a 'bad option' if you prefer it and you are having a well balanced meal. also if you are keeping to specific calories and macros white rice could be a preferred option.

at the end of the day, if you really enjoy white rice and you are having this as part of your healthy lifestyle, then there is nothing wrong with that!

Traveling shouldn’t be an excuse to ruin healthy habits. i’m in cincinnati this weekend and instead of getting an expensive hotel breakfast, i drove over to kroger to pick up some deliciousness! .
.
i got some hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms at the salad bar + had 1/2 the avocado for breakfast. .
also picked up a banana, a cucumber, a packet of wild-caught salmon, and some epic protein bars for snacks today and tomorrow. .
best part? all of this cost less than $10!! you definitely can’t find a hotel breakfast cheaper than that!

Strength is not only being able to lift heavy weights.
strength is mostly being able to believe in yourself even when nobody thinks you’re going to the right direction, that you’re wrong, that you’re not worth it. set a goal and do whatever it takes to get there...do whatever makes you feel good, and happy.
some people won’t understand, they don’t have to. i can’t explain my happiness when i do something l love, and i don’t even know why.

épaule pas énorme mais sèche. je dois reconnaître que le sentiment d'accomplissement lorsqu'on est congestionné après l'entraînement est super gratifiant (et la petite veine de l'épaule était de sortie) . le programme concocté par @mtlfit29 me réussit bien 👌🏻 et sinon aujourd'hui je me suis fait virer de la salle pour la 1ère fois pour défaut de serviette. je sais c'est mal, mais en pleine séance, j'étais dégoutée. les mecs à côté de moi avaient l'air de compatir de me voir arrêter en pleine séance 😥😥

i’m not quite sure if there’s anything better than waking up to the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls on a rainy saturday... 😍 (👈that’s currently me) any of my new yorkers going to pride tomorrow?? if so, see ya there! 🌈 enjoy the day and look below for the recipe!💕
ingredients:
cinnamon rolls-
1 1/4 cup soy milk, divided
4 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast, 2 packages
1/4 cup chickpea flour
1/2 cup vegan butter, soften
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
cinnamon filling-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 cup vegan butter, softened
sweet glaze-
2-3 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons soy milk
*heat 1 cup of soy milk over medium heat until milk is warm. stir in dry active yeast and set aside for 10 minutes. combine remaining 1/4 cup milk with chickpea flour. in the large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, and vegan butter. slowly add chickpea flour and yeast/milk mixtures. add the remaining flour 1/2 cup at at time and beat to combine. once the dough starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl and is soft to the touch, the dough is done.
transfer to a floured surface and kneed dough for five minutes. shape into a ball and place in a large oiled bowl, cover in plastic wrap, and place in a warm area of your house for 1 hour. when dough is ready, roll out onto a floured covered surface into a large rectangle about 1/4 ” thick. trim edges. spread butter over the entire surface of the dough, leaving the top 1/4" of the rectangle clean. combine cinnamon and sugar and spread evenly over the butter. starting at the bottom of the rectangle, roll dough evenly into a tight roll. seam side down, cut dough using a serrated knife into 15 equal pieces, about 1” thick.
place cinnamon rolls evenly in oiled 8x12 pan. cover and allow dough to rise for a second time. preheat the oven to 350 f. once cinnamon rolls are ready, remove plastic wrap and brush tops and sides with soy milk. bake for 25 min. combine ingredients for the glaze and pour on top!*

Yes! we went for a 50 minute bush walk today and signs of winter were around with a coolness in the air and muddy puddles. fresh air with the family for weekend #liss 👌👌 .

If you know me you know i can eat sweet potatoes at anytime of the day, i mean come on they’re amaze ✨✨✨ i think i’ve mastered them!!! 👇🏻
1. peel/dice into small wedges/squares
2. spray pan with tjs olive oil
3. toss sweet potatoes with salt, pepper, red cayenne pepper, spray with tjs olive oil baked at 450 for 35-45 mins
4. while those are cooking sautée chicken sausage on a pan and cook your egg whites
5. top with @traderjoes feta ❤️❤️❤️

best healthy banana bread {paleo, vegan, gluten free}
.
ingredients

2 cups almond flour
2 tablespoons granulated sweetener of choice (optional- if you prefer a sweeter banana bread!)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
2 large overripe bananas, mashed
2 flax eggs (can use eggs or equivilant egg replacements, like chia eggs)
½ cup coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

directions
1. preheat oven to 350f/180c. grease a loaf pan or 10 x 10-inch square pan and set aside.
2. in a large mixing bowl, add dry ingredients and mix well.
3. in a separate bowl, melt your coconut oil. add your mashed bananas and flax eggs/eggs and whisk together.

4. combine wet and dry mixture and mix until fully incorporated. stir through chocolate chips, if using them. pour into the greased pan.
5. bake for 40-50 minutes (square pan tends to be around the 40 minute mark, loaf pan 45-50 minute mark!), or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
6. let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. slice and enjoy.
