what i found the most critical while learning forearm stands was building *shoulder* flexibility/strength and *core* to hold myself up while inverted. here’s a short tutorial to prep pinchas 🙃
.
.
1.cat/cow warm up.
2.downdog to open shoulders (play with extension and external rotation of the shoulders instead of sinking into the joints)
3.dolphin - drop to forearms and extend shoulders, keep on externally rotating biceps up towards ears (builds strength and flexibility in shoulders) *bonus* dolphin to downdog to dolphin x10.
4.forearm plank - spend a while here 😘 shoulders over elbows (when you feel like coming out of it, spend another 10 breaths in the pose)
5.side forearm plank - add in your own variations for more fun!
6.forearm plank - lift one leg up for 5 breaths x10
7.dolphin - walk feet in, but don’t let your shoulders drift too far over elbows, keep on extending shoulders
8.dolphin - lift one leg up and reach towards the ceiling, both sides, eventually other leg will float up!! .

this’ll take some time to build strength for pinchas, but it’s a starting point! try these out and let me know how it goes ❤️ .
