Bodyweight flyes! (tag a friend) @gymshark keep a fixed, slightly bent position at the elbows, and allow the barbells to roll/ slide through your fingers. i’m using two different barbells as my gym only stocks one of each. engage your core by (almost) arching your back slightly. the lower you go, the more stress you’ll place on your chest, but be careful of your shoulders & avoid going too low if you have limited mobility or your chest is tight. - if these are too hard for you to do, try using just the eccentric (lowering down) phase of the movement, going as slowly as possible before picking yourself back up again. - disclaimer: no exercise is necessarily better than another, outside of it’s ability to better target the muscle group in question. if you want to grow, get stronger over time, or retain muscle when dieting, your focus should still revolve around increasing total training volume over time/ progressive overload with the exercises you do choose to consistently incorporate into your plan. #teamncf

Happy bumday πŸ€—πŸ‘ the @gracefitguide is still on sale for this week only!!! you can browse workouts and options on gracefitguide.com (link in my bio). 4 months of workouts in the bundle (not to mention 4 months till summer if ya want some motivation β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄). it's never too late to start and the time will pass anyway so you might as well spend it working towards your goals! check out the hashtag #gfg to see the community at work smashing those goals πŸ’ͺ🏼 so following on from last week's glute isolation workout i thought i'd give you a compound and glute isolation mix to really build that b***y but also work on the whole body at the same time πŸ’ͺ🏼 as i always say, πŸ‘πŸΌ activation πŸ‘πŸΌ is πŸ‘πŸΌ key πŸ‘πŸΌ i would thoroughly recommend a resistance band but if you don't have one, here is a resistance band free workout πŸ€— activation (perform as a triset): πŸ‘ glute bridges 3x12 πŸ‘ donkey kicks 3x12 πŸ‘ bodyweight walking lunges 3x10 per leg the workout: πŸ‹πŸΌ‍♀️ squats: 15 reps, 12 reps, 10 reps, 8 reps - increase weight as you decrease reps πŸ‹πŸΌ‍♀️ barbell walking lunges 3x12 per leg (do these with dumbbells if you can go a heavier weight but struggle to get the barbell over your head) πŸ‹πŸΌ‍♀️ smith machine lunges with leg up 3x12 per leg superset (alternate) with πŸ‹πŸΌ‍♀️ smith machine lunge pulses 3x20 per leg πŸ‹πŸΌ‍♀️ cable glute kickbacks 3x15 per leg, dropset every set another 12 reps per leg πŸ”₯ this will buuuurn to the max and really target your glutes and legs whilst burning maximum cals and engaging your full body. i recommend not taking more than 45 seconds break between sets. use weights where you are struggling on the last few reps πŸ’ͺ🏼 monday lets go! this is your week. Morning check in πŸ™‹πŸΌ diet: increased to 2000cals. blended approach between iifym & clean eating. 1-2 cheat meals a week. training: 4x lower body (divided as 2 glutes/hammies, 1 quads, 1 powerlifting) 2x upper body (shoulders/back). 2-3 crossfit style sessions for higher intensity training. next wbff show: worlds in august πŸ‘™ strength goal: 150kg squat 😈 - overall i feel content with where i'm at right now. i have balance in my life, increasing strength weekly and staying relatively lean! πŸ’–

One thing people don't realize is how tweaking hand placement, stance or the angle of your body, just a little bit, can change one exercise into many different variations! - it's all about throwing small adjustments on exercises to work the muscle differently! you could get on a lat pulldown and go with a grip all the way out to the ends of the attachment for the first set! second set move your grip a little closer, third set move your grip in a little further etc until your hands are eventually touching! you may be technically doing the same exercise but each time you move your grip closer it's changing it ever so slightly! - i've always been a fan of training like this! been doing it my entire lifting career (14 years) and have seen continuous results from it! - i got back tomorrow morning! last back day i did a low lat focused exercise video for you all! what's something you would like to see this time? upper back? single arm variations? _____________________________________________________ #teamon #optimumnutrition #goldenaesthetics #staygoldenπŸ’₯ #back #motivationmonday
