Using the hip, shoulder, and arm as one in the bent press is a great means of not only improving your pressing strength, but also rotational core stability and spatial awareness.

the bent press is an old school lift that deserves to be brought back from the iron graveyard. focus on "screwing" yourself under the weight as you press it, don't use leg drive to start the press, but kick your hip under the bell.

i suggest a moderate rep range (6-12) as it can get cardiovascularly taxing due to all the moving parts involved.
pairing it with the db grapevine enhances the shoulder and oblique work.

confusing right? many of us are afraid to fail, but ask yourselves why? what power does failure really have over you? i mean unless you're a bullfighter or fighter pilot....which i don't think any of my followers are (if you are we definitely need to get coffee sometime!), you will still be loved, cared for, and be the awesome person you already are if you do happen to fail.

so why not take that perceived fear away? give yourself permission to fail. to have the possibility of failure, and be okay with that as a possibility (cause if you're doing anything challenging it should be a possible outcome). .
you'll find yourself thinking less of the ways things can go bad, and be free to think about ways to be successful, because failure isn't the worst thing that can happen, and you're smart so you'll learn and be a better person from failing.
