Fit myth: more protein minimal to no carb will help me maintain muscle while leaning out. i realize this will ruffle some feathers #sorrynotsorry _______________________________________________________ ** my exercise physiologist cert comes from american college of sports medicine which is where my info comes from as well 🤓 _______________________________________________________ extra protein is not the key to building muscle, lifting is, protein helps with building your muscles but - extra - is the key word here 💪🏾 protein needs are based upon weight, suggested is about .13g/lb/meal. so if you’re 150lbs 20g/meal. total daily need is around (.5-.75). timing is an important factor as well for athletes. _______________________________________________________ of course, this can always vary slightly depending on your goals but the point is, excess protein doesn’t necessarily help. _______________________________________________________ carbs are literally your energy, they are not to be feared if you eat the right types to fuel your body. #faithfullyfitarmy top: @alphapackfitness “libbyleigh” to save 💕 leggings: @lilybod

🍑let's lunge!!🍑 . i have a love/hate relationship with lunges 😆 they s**k in the moment (because they are hard!), but they’re such a great way to train your legs and da booty! 🍑 . now, i never do regular front lunges. 🙅 in my opinion, they put too much unnecessary torque on the knees, and i do not feel them as much in my legs. thankfully, there are so many other variations of lunges! 😃 . swipe 👉to see six of my favorites! . ✅ split squat, front foot raised . ✅ split squat, back foot raised (aka bulgarian split squat) . ✅ reverse lunge . ✅ walking lunge . ✅ glider lunge . ✅ seesaw lunge . i encourage you to try these with just body weight to start. once you have the proper form down, add dumbbells or kettlebells for an extra challenge! 😅 when lunging, you want to keep your weight in your front heel, and never push your knee beyond your toes. form is so important for effectiveness and to prevent injury. 👍 . tag a gym buddy below👇 and let me know if you try any of these! happy #workoutwednesday 💪😃

Estereotipos👉no se comparen con los demás! las revistas y las redes sociales deberían ser fuentes de inspiración y motivación, siempre y cuando mostraran imágenes reales y no de mujeres perfectas, porque no existen, porque la perfección no existe; y crean expectativas imposibles de alcanzar! hacen que la mayoría de las personas retoquen sus fotos, y lo peor de todo, es que se nota! porque un cuerpo trabajado tiene otra forma, otra calidad muscular, es más real. qué sentido tiene retocarse en una imagen si después en la realidad son totalmente diferentes?! un cuerpo saludable se logra con trabajo, esfuerzo, constancia, paciencia y dedicación. y esos son los valores lindos de transmitir, no usar un app para poder aceptarse y mostrarle a la sociedad un cuerpo que no tienen. en serio, dejemos de compararnos con cuerpos imposibles, porque todo el mundo tiene defectos. no hay persona perfecta. todos tenemos inseguridades. sí, hay personas que las manejan mejor que otras, pero no existe una mujer u hombre que se sienta 100% perfecto. en la variedad, en lo diferente, es donde está la belleza✨ yo también he caído bajo los estereotipos, pero aprendí, con tiempo y dedicación, a callar esas voces internas. y por haber estado en ese lugar, donde tal vez están muchas personas, me motiva hoy poder escribir este mensaje. por esas inseguridades que tuve en ese momento, y sin saber dónde aprender. sólo miraba revistas y me hacían sentir peor, y me cambiaba el cuerpo, cometía errores, inventaba dietas loquísimas como cualquier adolescente. hasta que decidí informarme y así es como uno aprende a quererse como es, y a destacar lo que más nos gusta de nosotros, y a poder manejar lo que no nos gusta tanto. porque, en lo más profundo de nosotros, sabemos lo que somos y en qué nos destacamos. insisto en que no se queden sólo en lo superficial, porque somos más que un cuerpo. cuidarse y llevar un estilo de vida saludable va más allá de un cuerpo perfecto. se trata de poder cultivar la autoestima, poder sentirse bien con uno mismo y lo más importante, de cuidar nuestra salud. porque uno vive una vez y la salud nos da calidad de vida! -m
