Regaining control of my life. i posted a youtube video today that was one of my most vulnerable. my whole mindset, body, and where i live have changed so much in the past 2 years. with the picture on the left i was sad, i didn’t put myself first, and i lost site of who i was. the picture on the right is a woman who doesn’t give anyone the authority over her happiness. if i want to feel good, i can right in this moment. i love who i am and the person i am becoming everyday. i have a message and a clear impact that i want to make that gets me sooooo excited about life. yes this is a body transformation but my goal hasn’t been to lose weight. my goal has been to feel the best that i could feel and my body is responding positively due to my overall mindset: lower stress levels, happier, eager for more experiences, and long term health. i go to the gym because i love the way it makes me feel, not because i’m trying to lose weight. more feeling. if you feel like you’ve lost sight of who you are, it’s okay i have been there. i have used food as a way to mask my feelings, but there is a way out of the toxic cycle and it starts with you. as a coach, i am huge on mindset, it’s explained in all of my programs as well as the 7 day free challenge i myself and my community is doing right now. when you feel good about yourself, you’re going to feel more in control, feel better, and want to make positive decisions for yourself because you’re just so grateful for the bodies we have. listen to your inner self, it’s speaking to you all time even in the moments we feel alone. there’s a community of people who are all here to support you as well. to join the #spfitcommunity, link is in my bio!

Ever wonder what changing your foot placement does on the leg press? it actually can change which muscles in the legs you are focusing on. depending on where you place your feet, will change the outcome of the movement!

a high foot placement with feet wide and toes slightly out to the sides will work a wide variety of leg muscles. this placement will put emphasis on your inner quads, hamstrings, glutes and adductors.

a high foot placement with feet narrow with toes pointed up will work outer quads, glutes, hamstring, and abductors.

a low foot placement with feet narrow and toes up will put a main focus on our quads.

what’s the benefit of the smith machine for these exercises?

i love the leg press, but some of them limit your depth and extension. this allows me to get deeper into the exercise and also extend farther, creating more engagement and intensity. plus you are working against gravity. this version of “leg press” isolates more onto your hamstrings and glutes and less engagement of your quads (this happens on the leg press even with different foot positioning) the smith also gives you stability, control and support.

tip to keeping the bar from locking, keep feet flat at all times as if you are pushing your feet against the ceiling. try to use the heels of your foot vs the ball of your foot. when you are done just simply roll your toes forward to lock in place.

1️⃣ lying leg press 4x12 (hamstring & glutes)
2️⃣ single lying leg press 3x10 each leg
(hamstring & under booty)
3️⃣ modified glute deadlift 4x15
(upper glutes/lower back) ❗️❗️❗️observe my form with this. not filming coming all the way up and stoping at my knees. pushing back through my hips. performing this way will ensure you target the upper glutes and lower back and less hamstring!

Handstand 😊
i haven't uploaded a video of the handstands for a long time because i don't do these tricks that often outdoors.
the handlebar handstand and also the saddle handlebar handstand are one of the most difficult tricks in artistic cycling.
as i am in my offseason now i haven't been on my bike for 2 weeks now. yesterday was my first training after this break. so i will need some trainingssessions to get the feeling for all these tricks back. especially the feeling for the handstands although i did a lot of strength training during this break. but a handstand on the ground is so much different than on the bike 😅🙈
